Breaking
into the creative industries is tougher than ever before. That’s why
we’ve partnered with IdeasTap to offer 20 photographers an incredible
training opportunity.
Aimed at photographers at the start of
their careers, Magnum’s Professional Practice event is a two-day
masterclass hosted at Magnum Photos’ London Print Room, organised as
part of IdeasTap Inspires.
During the weekend high profile
photography experts will discuss the practical business of photography
and pass on their invaluable industry knowledge.
Topics covered
may include: the commercial print sale market, advertising shoots,
commissioning for NGOs, image licensing, publishing photographic books,
the modern editorial market, funding and organising exhibitions.
A
second day will provide photographers with an opportunity to have an
honest, constructive critique of their portfolios, by our industry
specialists.
The weekend is a unique opportunity to begin
establishing a professional network of peers and useful industry
contacts, and to identify entry realistic routes into employment.
