Artist Grant

Artist Grant

The deadline for the current grant cycle is July 15, 2019
Founded in 2017, Artist Grant aims to support and fund artists. All too often, society expects artists to work for free when other types of professionals receive fair compensation for their work. Artists deserve fair compensation. To that end, our charitable organization funds the efforts of artists to continue their important work and contributions to society. We provide a modest competitive grant of $500 to one artist every quarter.
We have no sponsors but are a small group of individuals using our own personal wealth, time, energy, and efforts to fulfill Artist Grant's mission. The team functions as the grant selection jury. We come from different creative backgrounds, so we do not have preferences about artistic style or media. We’d love to see your work!
Artist Grant provides a $500 USD grant to one visual artist each grant cycle. There are four grant cycles per year – January 15, April 15, July 15, and October 15. Once an artist wins a grant, they may not apply again.
There is an application fee of $25 USD

L.A. Photo Curator Call for Entry Theme: 'Lost at Sea' curated by Michael Behlen (Founder of Analog Forever Magazine)

Behlen says, "Our constant bombardment by all things electronic has left us marooned on an island made up of likes, shares, website metrics. This new life our society lives often seems like one lost at sea. As photographers, we don't need rescuing or an s.o.s. signal. We have developed a way to connect ourselves to our surroundings which allows us to see past these feelings of isolation by using our camera lens.
For this exhibition, we are looking to see the places, people, activities, and things that help you escape from the daily hustle and allow you to live peacefully on your own personal island. The images submitted can be of, or represent, the things that make you feel alive. No interpretation of this theme is wrong. After all, we are all trying to survive our modern lives marooned in a sea of hyperconnectivity."

20% of artist entry fees go to charity. All entries are shown on an online exhibition with the artists artist statement, bio and parts of their CV.
